Mia & the Moon

A Leicester based band that you have to see live!

Mia and the Moon are a local band to Leicester with stunning vocals and mesmerising harmonies.

They are a band that are very important to us here at Singing Lessons Leicester, with Laura Ratcliffe (one 1/2 of Mia and the Moon) being the lead teacher here at Singing Lessons Leicester from 2011 to 2019. Having attended many a Mia and the Moon concert I would love to recommend attending on yourself. You can find out more about the band below:

This is the story of two sisters who began singing together as toddlers at National Bluegrass Festivals alongside musical parents - their father performed with Dolly Parton while their mother, Kathy wrote Kaleidoscopes - which became a song of much importance further down the line... Mary‐Anne’s own songs ‘Solitary Confinement’ and ‘Scenario’ were remixed by Dutch Producer; Marco V in 2009, reaching the top ten dance chart through Radio 1 air-play, while Laura has performed worldwide onboard Luxury Cruise Ships, yachts, hotels and was a guest vocalist at last years New Orleans Jazz Festival. Combining early folk festival influences with the urban, contemporary styles of today, Mia and the Moon have honed a distinctive, gospel sound, and reach out to people of all ages with timeless musical style.

Mia and the Moon are headlining festivals, touring and releasing a new album during 2015 so do make sure you come an check them out! To find out more don't hesitate to check out the band's website www.miaandthemoon.com.
