The Leicester Events Choir was founded in 2014 to bring together singers who also wanted the challenge of performing too. This has created a real spirit of comradery in rehearsals as singers seek to improve their vocals and learn their words ready for the next showcase (pre-Covid we performed at least 6 times a year).

While we continue to keep an eye on current guidance in relation to performances we are permitted to rehearse and are hopeful to bring our annual winter concert to our friends and supporters in some format.
We run a 90-minute group rehearsal on Mondays in Leicester for the main singing group with additional practice for soloist and subgroups (such as our barbershop quartet!). If you’re excited about getting your voice out there with other likeminded individuals we’d love to have you on board.
Although this choir is ideal for those with a background in singing no is experience is necessary and there is no audition. If you are an experienced singer with some performing under your belt you could also be considered for our soloist or select team in addition to the main group. Members make a monthly payment and have access to an online archive of vocal exercise and rehearsal material to use at home.

What you DO need is a keen interest in singing, a positive work ethic and some diva sass. We’ve also organised social events together (and hope to resume those in the future too). Together we are greater than the sum of our parts.
